Ringtones

Personalize your smartphone with hand-picked ringtones! See the instructions below for downloading and setting up your favorite ringtone.

• Save a ringtone: Save audio files, such as mid, mp3, or wav files, to the BlackBerry® smartphone memory or a media card. Click a ringtone on a web page, While playing the ringtone, press the Menu key, Click Save.

• Play a ringtone: In the media application, click Ringtones, Click a media folder that contains ringtones, Click a ringtone.

• Download a ringtone from mobile.blackberry.com: Verify that your wireless service provider supports this feature. In the media application, click Ringtones, Click a media folder that contains ringtones, Press the Menu key, Click Download Tunes.

• Rename a ringtone: You can only rename media files that you have added. In the media application, click Ringtones, Click a media folder that contains ringtones, Highlight a ringtone, Press the Menu key, Click Rename, Type a name for the file, Click Save. (If you rename a ringtone that you use in a notification profile, you must change the notification profile to use the renamed ring tone).

• Change a ringtone: In the media application, click Ringtones, Click a media folder that contains ringtones, Highlight a ringtone, Press the Menu key, Click Set As Phone Tune, Click OK.

• Set a ringtone for a specific contact: Go to the Address Book, Click the contact you wish to edit, Press the Menu key, Click Edit, Press the Menu key, Click Add Custom Phone Tune, Click the trackball to view the list of ringtones and select a ringtone from the list that appears or click "Browse..." to select from the Ringtones folder, Press the Menu key, Click Save.
